Concrete has come a long way in recent years. It is no longer the boring, dull grey that you see in the local park footpath. There are a range of finishes that you can use to make your area special and unique to your style. Our team at Tulsa Area Concrete are experts with concrete and really enjoy making modifications to suit our clients’ needs through coloring, stamping and finishes. We have outlined some of the common finishes here for you, but feel free to ask us for options and we can send you through some examples before you make a long-lasting decision for your home.
There are a range of different finishes available for concrete walls, which have become quite trendy since the rise of the fashionable industrial look. There can be different wall coatings applied to suit the look that you are aiming to achieve. We have a range of swatches available to help you choose which finish you would like. You can have a smooth finish with a wash over it to give it some character, a textured finish to give your wall volume or a stamped finish to create a tile, timber or slate effect to your wall.
It is quite amazing what we are able to do with concrete these days and the looks we are able to achieve through different finishing techniques. We can create a natural looking concrete benchtop, so that it stays looking like concrete, but we are also able to create a marble and porcelain effect. With the different finishing techniques available, we can manipulate concrete to achieve a look that is very different to what you would expect from concrete. We are happy to send through photos of our previous work and what we are able to do. Please bear in mind that curing time will be required.
As concrete is naturally a porous material, meaning that it can absorb liquids causing staining of your concrete, we always recommend that you have a sealer put on the finished product to help repel stains. Although a sealer will not completely prevent staining, it will give you time to clean up the mess so that it doesn’t absorb into the concrete. We have a range of protective coatings to suit the area, whether it be a shower wall, or a part of the external façade of your home. Our team are more than happy to share their knowledge and experience with you to help you make an informed decision for your wall finishes.
Each of the finishes of concrete you have will require different care requirements. Whilst all concrete finishes are low maintenance, they are still vulnerable to general wear and tear, cracks, discoloration and stains. Our team of experienced workers at Tulsa Area Concrete will take the time to discuss with you and advise of the best care instructions to keep your concrete finishes looking their best for years to come.
